Over 680,000 children suffer emotional trauma after the earthquakes
The recent earthquakes have left deep scars on our children. Today, the trauma they face after losing their homes, their schools, and their sense of security is heartbreaking. Nearly 680,000 minors have suffered the direct impact of this catastrophe, facing severe levels of post-traumatic stress that require immediate intervention.
Our children genuinamente need us today. We cannot erase the anguish and fear of what they experienced, but with your help, we can intervene in time and make a definitive before and after in their emotional recovery.

TEA Project: How We Will Transform Their Reality
Expressive Sandwork: A non-verbal adaptation of Play Therapy for disaster contexts.
To achieve this healing, we will implement the Expressive Sandwork (TEA) methodology, developed by the prominent International Association for Expressive Sandwork. From A.C. Ágora, we will work hand in hand with them to implement this pioneering model in Venezuela. We know that for a child it is incredibly difficult, and sometimes impossible, to explain with words the terror they felt during the earthquakes. Therefore, this intervention in disaster zones is deeply respectful and non-verbal.
We provide them with a safe space that includes a sandbox accompanied by hundreds of miniature figures (people, animals, houses, trees, vehicles). In this therapeutic space, the sand becomes their world and the figures their words. By playing, building, and recreating scenarios in the sand, children manage to externalize their deepest fears, process anguish, and rebuild their sense of control and security at their own pace, without the pressure of verbally reliving the trauma.

The Therapeutic Journey (12 Weekly Sessions)

Building Trust
The child explores the sand freely, establishes a secure bond with the therapist, and defines their containment space.
Trauma Processing
Symbolic externalization of the chaos, fear, and loss experienced during the earthquakes without the need for words.
Reconstruction & Future
Integration of the experience, restoration of the sense of personal security, and strengthening closure.
Our Goal: $20,000 to Change Lives
With this goal we secure 1 cohort of 16 children.
To make this project a reality and reach the children who need it most, we have set the urgent goal of raising $20,000. These funds are destined entirely to acquire the sandboxes, import the necessary collections of therapeutic miniatures, mobilize our team of specialists in the field, and sustain the program’s logistics during the 12 critical weeks of intervention.
